Wouldn’t recommend for anyone to come in unless they were in a bigger room where it might get more attention to be cleaned rather and a small room. Overall I enjoyed my stay but not comfortably. Maybe if timing was extended til 10pm like the noise protocol I would’ve been able to experience the amenities.

Unfortunately due to timing I was not able to experience roasting of the marshmallows neither the use of the pool. The restaurant was amazing! Great selection of foods and drinks, servers were also very customer service focused. I ended up using some towels to lay on the bed so I can sleep better after the bed being dirty. Best part of the room was the bathroom, nicely cleaned and good stock of towels. Bed sheets were not folded in all the way, I was able to tell it wasn’t fully cleaned before entering. Ironing board was non functional as well as the iron (was not able to iron my clothes). You can see the dust over furniture and TV. The mattress also had stains making it uncomfortable for me to sleep knowing it was dirty. Putting this one negative aside, the overall experience my family had at Lakehouse Hotel was more than above par (pun intended) and would stay here again and have recommended to others to check out this tranquil location on the shores of Lake San Marcos. I will say the housekeeping staff was on it, fast and effecient, very helpful. A seasoned staff with experience in the hospitality business versus a random front desk person working a summer job on college break, might be more keen to pickup on those things when greeting guest or engaging in friendly conversation. But not everyone that visits this hotel fits into that mold. Granted this is a boutique hotel that caters to a specific clientel.

While staff was courteous and accommodating, I feel like there was a lack of hospitableness/welcomeness with the overall guest experience. As far as the hotel front desk experience, I feel like they need a little help. The Links at Lakehouse is an amazing golf course with lush greens and an immaculate 18 hole golf course. While there are a few dining options (The Grill, Amalfi Cucina and Enoteca) on property, I would recommend searching the many options available in San Marcos, Carlsbad and Vista. Beautiful rooms, stunning views of Lake San Marcos, a serene and quiet ambiance, an amazing 18 hole golf course just down the way from your room. The Lakehouse Hotel and Golf Resort is a hidden gem in North San Diego County.
